Rodewitz (Spree)

Rodewitz seen from Großpostwitz

is a small village approx. 5 miles in the south of Bautzen, between Großpostwitz and Kirschau, directly at the hill "Mönchswalder Berg" (1466ft).

Like the villages Kleinpostwitz (sorbian Bójswecy), Bederwitz (sorbian Bjedrusk) and Sonnenberg (sorbian Słónčna Hora) Rodewitz belonging to Kirschau (sorbian Korzym) (since 1999), there are nearly 700 people. [nearest villages]

There are 2 car dealers, a restaurant "Erbgericht", a fire station and a darts club
The Penny-supermarket, reopened in spring 2009 was already closed.

A trade directory can be found at Companies/Services. The primary school was closed unfortunately, but still there is a Kindergarten.

In former times there were even 2 (!) railway stations, but both were also unfortunately shut down.
